Minister Amunugama at the Ninth South Asia Economic Summit in Dhaka

Minister of Special Assignments Dr. Sarath Amunugama participated at the Ninth South Asia Economic Summit recently held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Summit was jointly organised by five South Asian institutes focusing on developmental issues, including the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka. The main theme of the conference was ‘Re-imaging South Asia in 2030’. The need for regional economic integration was stressed in the proceedings of the conference. The two day seminar held on 15 and 16 October was inaugurated by the President of Bangladesh and was addressed by senior ministers of the region, academics and developmental specialists.
