Mitsui to re-launch operations in Sri Lanka

Japanese company Mitsui will re-launch their operations in Sri Lanka after the lapse of 10 years in August. 

Mitsui President and CEO Tatsuo Yasunaga recently confirmed the company would restart activities in Sri Lanka and re-open their office on the 16th floor of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Colombo next month.

Mitsui has been dormant since May 2007. The company has constructed several iconic projects including Parliament House, the Hydropower station in Kukule Ganga, and Hilton Colombo. 

Mitsui has been exporting Ceylon Tea to Japan and now it will pursue the potential business opportunities in the area of infrastructure such as ports, roads, LNG and power.
