Increasing numbers of high school seniors from top international schools in Colombo are now turning towards US colleges and universities due to its superior quality, affordability, accessibility, instant admissions with scholarship offers, widest array of schools (nearly 5,000), choices of majors (over 900 different courses), possibility of offering more than one major at no extra cost and the relentless promotion by Scholarships for USA Ltd. (www.scholarshipsforusa.com) during the past 10 years.
Scholarships for USA is the island’s only student recruiter working exclusively with US universities and the only one who travels to US each year searching for even more affordable schools for its fast growing clientele.
The British School in Colombo recently celebrated three of those – Imashi Fernando (Montana State – Nutrition - 3rd L), Savindri Jayawardene and Nashaya Ali (Augustana College – Business – 4th & 5th L respectively). All have been offered generous scholarships and credit transfers.
Dr. John Scarth – Principal (6th L), Simon Harwood – Deputy Principal (Head of Senior School – 2nd L), Michael Wijesuriya – Head of Sixth Form (1st L) and Priyanthi Dissanayake from SUSA (7th L) joined to congratulate them.
Asked about the services provided by SUSA, Michael Wijesuriya said: “We are thankful to them for their untiring efforts to assist the school in helping our students secure the best options in US education.”
Added Imashi: “I found it reassuring that they visit each university they place students in. They were always full of information and very comforting to listen to. Communications were super fast. I shall gladly recommend SUSA to anyone.”
Nashaya said: “Services provided by SUSA are one of a kind. I always thought US education would be prohibitively expensive but SUSA proved it wasn’t. As they promised they got me an amazing offer from a great school in just two weeks. Their commitment and genuine concern was outstanding. They made the entire application process seem so easy.”
