Mihin Lanka, Sri Lanka’s low cost carrier recently played host to Bryan Livera, Mr. Sri Lanka, the country’s candidate for the Mr. International pageant. The pageant which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia saw the participation of 38 Mr. International hopefuls from around the globe. A Software Engineer for MAS, Bryan Liver was place 16th and was named a semi-finalist in the competition while he was also placed 4th in the Interviews Category and 4th in the National Costume competition.
Speaking of his journey and experience Bryan had this to say: “The team at Mihin Lanka helped make my experience comfortable and memorable. From check in to check out I got more support than I have experienced on any other flight and I landed in Jakarta with confidence and reassurance. The Mihin team even went over and beyond the call of duty to help me with all my ground arrangements from the time of ticketing to even assisting in getting my travel documents in order. The customer service provided both at the Colombo Airport and on arrival in Jakarta was so efficient and professional; it made me feel very relaxed. As a representative of the country at an international pageant, I was treated with respect and received a lot of attention that is generally lacking in our industry. The flight was very comfortable and the crew friendly and courteous. I am very grateful that Mihin Lanka came forward to support me even though the request was at short notice.”
Mihin Lanka Manager Marketing Communications Rangi Perera had this to say: “When we sponsor someone we believe in, we lend support all the way. We believe that when that person is representing Sri Lanka we have a duty to give them the maximum support that we can and not only just the ticket. So we ensure the service is seamless until they get back home again.”
“The experience at the pageant was amazing, I met different people and was able to make new friends and learnt a lot about people and their cultures. It also gave me an opportunity to be able to share a bit of my Sri Lankan hospitality and also promote our beautiful country with them,” further stated Bryan.
The pageant saw the participant of 38 candidates from different nationalities and cultures. In a bid to foster cultural bonds and friendship, the participants were placed with four different roommates over the 11 nights that they spent in Jakarta. This was done in an endeavour to create harmony and healthy competition amongst the participants.
