MTI’s ‘idea2fund’ successfully assessed the second round’s concept presentations on the 17th of December at the Hilton Colombo. ‘idea2fund’ is a venture challenge platform powered by MTI Corporate Finance for prospective entrepreneurs to pitch their venture ideas, get connected with potential investors and receive start-up consulting advisory and execution through MTI Consulting.
The session included 21 shortlisted business ideas which were presented to the judging panel that comprised Regus Sri Lanka Country Manager; Dr. Nirmal De Silva, MTI Sri Lanka Head of Operations; Kapila Liyanage and Business Analyst; Rajika Sangakkara. Here, the panel evaluated the validity of the concept and opportunity, and the commerciality aspect of the same. Based on the presentations judging and evaluation, the entrepreneurs will be further shortlisted to the next stage.
‘All entrepreneurs pitched innovative and prospective ideas. It was impressive to note the range of diversity of the ideas pitched from agriculture, education, fashion, financial services, ICT to tourism and other categories. We are looking forward to see what the next round entails.’ said MTI’s Head of Operations Sri-Lanka, Kapila Liyanage.
