Mullaitivu District Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture re-launched

The Mullaitivu District Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture re-launched recently in Mankulam. Government agent N. Vedhanayagan was present as Chief Guest along with ILO Chief Technical Advisor Joe Connolly and FCCISL CEO/Secretary General Nallin Attygalle also present as guests of honour at the occasion. The President and board of directors of the Mullaitivu District Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture welcomed he guests in a traditional way. After the welcoming the guests, MUDDCIA President T. Sothilingam delivered the welcome speech where he stated: “Now the chamber is engaged in getting financial assistance for the repair of its damaged premises from the Indian government with the support of FCCISL. Already we have helped traders to get their insurance claims.” He added: “We value the ILO partnership to develop the MSME sectors in the district and I thank them for their financial support to run the chamber.” After his speech ILO Chief Technical Advisor Joe Connolly said: “I thank MUDCCIA for inviting me as a guest of honour. Mankulam is a center point for the Mullaitivu district and the Mullaitivu district business community should utilise the chamber’s services. The ILO LEED project has funded MUDCCIA for their movements.” FCCISL CEO/SG Nalin Attygalle stated: “FCCISL will always be with MUDCCIA. All of us know the reason why the Mullaitivu district is so backward. There are many resources in Mullaitivu area and entrepreneurs in Mullaitivu must utilise those resources. Please stop sailing to Australia and try to make something here. Once again I thank the President and board of directors for inviting me.” The chief guest, Government Agent N. Vedhanayagan speaking at the event said: “I thank MUDCCIA for inviting me as chief guest. MUDCCIA should work to develop the MSME sectors and we hope they will. I thank the FCCISL and ILO for their contribution of developing businesses in Mullaitivu.” MUDCCIA Secretary Mr. Balasubramaniyam delivered the vote of thanks.
