NAC to hold National Agribusiness Awards 2014

The National Agri Business Council, an affiliate of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is inviting applications from entities engaged in agricultural based businesses to take part in the ‘National Agribusiness Awards 2014’. The event to be held for the ninth consecutive year is aimed at recognising the performance and contribution made by the formal business sector towards the development of agribusiness in Sri Lanka. The awards will be, sector based and will be grouped into Small, Medium and Large Category, while it will also be segmented into areas such as, Input suppliers, Services, Producers, Processors, and Marketers. This is the ninth consecutive year of the Agribusiness awards and will hold this year’s event on the 23 August 2014, concurrently with the Ag-Biz & Profood Trade fair at BMICH. The closing date for the applications will be 28 July 2014 and applications can be downloaded from the NAC website (www.nac-sl.com). Last year’s National Gold Award was jointly won by Kurunegala Plantations Limited and Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Co. Ltd and Plenty Foods Ltd won the National Bronze Award.  The selection for this year’s awards will be based on Business overview, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Social impact and Sector Specific performance.  The applications are evaluated by a competent panel of Agriculturalists, Accountants, and Marketing Consultants, coming from the Private and the Public sectors.
