National Gem and Jewellery Authority gets new Chief

Newly-appointed Chairman of National Gem and Jewellery Authority Prasad Galhena assumed duties this week.

The others who were present at this occasion were M.B.U.D. Basnayake, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Sarath Samarakoon, Working Director and Nimal Bandara, Director General of National Gem and Jewellery Authority.

Galhena graduated from University of Colombo (BBA Honors) and posses an MBA (Merit pass) obtained from the same university.

He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) -UK and a passed finalist of the Chartered Institute of Marketing -UK. He was the Chairman for the Ceylon Shipping Corporation and Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board (Laksala).
