The Annual Report for the year 2010/11 of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) was awarded at the recently held Vision Awards in New York. The NCCSL’s Annual Report was the winner of the Silver award in the Non-Profit category.

The Vision Awards, organised by the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP), is the world’s most renowned annual report competition and attracts submissions from organisations across the world.

NCCSL President Asoka Hettigoda, after receiving the award, said: “Our 2010/11 Annual Report is aptly based on our role as the voice of Sri Lankan business. It communicates to our stakeholders the importance of the remit bestowed on our organisation in stimulating, promoting, representing and protecting the interests of Sri Lanka’s many businesses.”

Smart Media – The Annual Report Company was responsible for conceptualising and designing the NCCSL’s Annual Report. Smart Media Chairman Dr. Vijith Kannangara said: “It is imperative that Sri Lankan organisations look at their annual reports as vital communication tools between themselves and their stakeholders. In this regard, we are proud to be highlighting the annual report of an umbrella organisation as vital as the NCCSL at such a forum.”

NCCSL was founded in 1948 and is the focal point for member companies representing virtually the entire spectrum of industry, trade and commerce in Sri Lanka, including some of the most vibrant and progressive business houses in the country.

This is the first-ever occasion that NCCSL has produced an Annual Report in complying with international standards and winning a Silver award confirms  NCCSL’s vision to be one of the world’s best chambers.

The LACP was established in 2001 in the USA to create a forum that discusses best-in-class practices while recognising those who demonstrate exemplary communication capabilities. The Vision Awards process of the LACP recognises and rewards outstanding annual reporting from across the globe. The LACP Vision Awards 2012 attracted over 5,500 entries from more than 25 countries.
