NCE business delegation to visit Horti Asia 2013 in Bangkok

The National Chamber of Exporters Sri Lanka will be leading a business delegation to Bangkok, Thailand during 8 to 12 May 2013 to attend the Horti Asia 2013 exhibition.

Horti Asia 2013 is the Asian region’s leading international tradeshow for horticultural and floricultural products as well as production, and processing technology. The event has been organised to support the current fast growing horticulture and floriculture industries in this region.

It will create awareness regarding the growing industry, and provide horticultural information. It also acts as a platform to share knowledge on new innovations and technologies in order to improve the horticultural industry.

Visiting the Horti Asia 2013 exhibition will provide participants the opportunity to meet with growers, producers, traders, and also visit auctions, wholesale markets, and other similar services. It will also provide valuable information related to breeding, seeds, and seed improvement, planting and cultivation technology (covered and open fields), storage, transport, cooling, packaging, processing, weighting, labelling and monitoring technologies, greenhouses, greenhouse equipment, and technologies, and terminals, ports, and warehousing facilities.

The NCE through its coordination with the Horti Fair exhibition organisers has arranged for meetings with other delegates and exhibitors in advance. International companies from countries such as the Netherland’s, Japan, and USA have been approached, and their company profiles as well as the company profiles of the delegates have been exchanged, and meeting arranged.

The NCE will provide participants a complete package covering airfare, hotel and transportation in Thailand between the hotel, the exhibition centre and the Sri Lankan Mission.

The delegation consists of the following companies, and representatives: Piyal Wijesinghe and   Charaka Eranda Gamage of CIC Agri Businesses, Jayanpathi Wickramasiri and Saman Dassanayake of Jayampathi Lanka Exports, Ajith Priyantha Oodugama of Nekab, Nalin Priyantha Jayetileke of Anilana Tropical Foliage and Mihindu  Keerthiratne and his wife of Mike Flora.

The delegation will be led by M. Shiham Marikar – Director Trade Promotion of the NCE.
