NCE holds bilateral trade talks with Czech Ambassador

The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) organised a meeting of member exporters with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Miloslav Stasek on Wednesday, 9 October 2013 at 9 a.m. at the NCE conference room.
NCE Vice President Mangala Yapa made the introductory remarks. The Ambassador addressed the members on the current business trends, potential for exports, imports, investments and services, for Sri Lankan exporters in the Czech Republic.
He was optimistic regarding the potential for Sri Lankan exporters in the Czech market. He noted that currently Sri Lankan exports to the Czech Republic comprises of textiles, tea, spices, coconut, fish, gems and Jewellery, rubber products, machinery and equipment, etc., and also outlined avenues for funding of joint venture projects between Sri Lankan and Czech partners.
He added that there is a great potential for agricultural products in the Czech market.
The Ambassador proposed that the Chamber organises a business delegation to visit the Czech Republic for which he would provide all assistance to make it a success.
The member exporters present clarified issues of concern to them with the Ambassador.
