  • Nestle Professional introduces a revolutionary machine-dispensed cold beverage solution with Nestea Iced Lemon Tea and Nescafe Ice
By David Ebert Nestle PLC’s out-of-home solutions arm – Nestle Professional -  announced the launch of an all new range of cold thirst quenchers, but this time not as an off the shelf packaged product, but instead dispensed from machines that can deliver both a whipped up Nescafe Ice, as well as a tangy, refreshing Nestea Iced Lemon tea. This, according to Nestle Professional Brand Manager Mario Perera, is because Nestle’s data shows that nine out of ten beverages consumed on an average day are thirst quenchers, which given Sri Lanka’s heat and humidity, makes sense. “If Nestle can be the leader in the hot beverage category, then why not the cold?” Perera added. The range includes new products from its world renowned brands Nescafe and Nestea to offer consumers great tasting iced coffee and iced lemon tea. Described as a versatile cold beverage solution, the new development will enable restaurants, hotels, tea shops and eateries to dispense the iced beverages to consumers from Quencher vending units or through instant preparation by simply adding cold water to the premix via Nestle’s ‘Shake n Serve’ concept. “Two fantastic products and one versatile vending machine – this beverage solution was designed specifically by Nestle Professional for the out-of-home segment like restaurants, hotels, tea shops and other eateries in response to the increasing market need for convenient, cold beverage products for ‘on the go’ consumption. Combining Nestle’s superior R&D technology with local market insights, our all new Nescafe Iced Coffee and Nestea Iced Lemon Tea are ideal for speedy, everyday use via simple, instant preparation,” said Nestle Professional Head Jagath Wedage. The new cold vending products are designed as an ideal solution for out of home operators who are strapped for time and short on skilled labour to handle the entire preparation process from cooling to dispensing. “Nestle was founded on breakthrough innovations that added value to and enhanced consumers’ lives and that is something we continue to deliver today. Nestle Professional is based on providing solutions to its customers via meaningful innovations that add value to business and I’m proud to note that Nestle Professional has always been a catalyst in changing the game of the professional food and beverage industry – firstly by introducing hot vending beverages to the country, and now cold vending beverages. “As the country develops and grows, the needs of local consumers are evolving to look for products that provide convenience, hygiene and standardisation in taste – all three of which they will find in our product range. We will continue to cater to changing customer and consumer needs whilst upholding the stringent quality and hygiene our products are renowned for,” said Nestle Lanka Managing Director Ganesan Ampalavanar.
