New Power and Energy Secy. Dr. Batagoda pledges to eradicate corruption

Newly-appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy Dr. Suren Batagoda assuming duties yesterday asserted it was a blessing to serve as Secretary for the first time under a Minister in the calibre of Champika Ranawaka who is highly knowledgable.

Addressing fellow officers started work in his office, Batagoda said he was aware that the value of the energy sector for the development of the country and had a good understanding of the financial transactions in the energy industry during the service before the Treasury. Batagoda added that he would prepare to work very closely with the two Ministers to and officials in order to eradicate the entire power sector corruption on the rise.
