New Shaw Wallace office declared opened by CEO of Ajinomoto Malaysia

The new offices of Shaw Wallace Ceylon Ltd. were ceremonially opened on 15 October 2012 by Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Ajinomoto Malaysia Berhard, Hiroshi Amano. Also present at the opening were Ajinomoto Malaysia Berhard’s senior representatives – Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Daisuke Kon and Export Sales and Marketing Executive Laiken Fatt.

The new offices are housed at the brand-new seven storey state-of-the-art ‘Renuka Building’ which is strategically located on 46 perches at Baseline Road in Colombo 08, with easy access to all parts of the city and suburbs. With a total area of 66,000 sq. ft. and built by renowned contractors, Tudawe Brothers Ltd., the complex boasts of some of the best materials sourced locally as well as from overseas.

The Renuka building is owned by Shaw Wallace Ceylon Ltd. and is also occupied by group companies Shaw Wallace Food Services Ltd. and Richlife Dairies Ltd. Shaw Wallace Ceylon Ltd. also owns a state-of-the-art 56,000 sq. ft. warehousing and logistics centre on 216 perches in Peliyagoda.  

Speaking at the opening, Managing Director/Chief Executive Director of Ajinomoto Berhard Hiroshi Amano said, “Though our presence in Sri Lanka goes back to over 15 years, this is my very first visit to this beautiful country. I do regret not being able to come here much earlier and having seen firsthand the tremendous potential and growth this country has to offer, I am indeed honoured and pleased to be here today.  I am looking forward to furthering our longstanding partnership with Shaw Wallace Ceylon Ltd.”

Managing Director, Shaw Wallace Ceylon Ltd. Shamindra Rajiyah said, “In order to achieve success in our journey towards excellence in Sri Lanka’s FMCG industry, it is vital that our committed staff and stakeholders are provided with all necessary infrastructures to carry out their duties.

“The new complex has its own training room facilities, recreational areas and also the technological infrastructure in place. We thus strongly believe that we have created the right balance for employees as well as our business partners to be a part of this exciting journey.”
