New station to take airwaves by storm next week on 94.1 FM

Sri Lanka’s radio channels have reached a level of maturity and sophistication to the extent that it could satisfy even the most discerning listener. From contemporary, to modern, to rock, to jazz to blues and others we have it all on our FM waves.
But if you want to ‘escape’ from all of this and tune into something that’s neither too new or too old nor contemporary but amazingly different, the wait will not be for long, as the country’s newest channel is due to commence broadcasting.
It’s new, it’s fun, it’s bold and it’s got the most vibrant new sounds, from music to jingles to personalities – it’s the most electrifying station to hit the airwaves yet. Best of all, it’s different. So different that once you tune out of the old and tune in to the new, there undoubtedly will be no escape from its grasp.
Launched by Asset Radio Broadcasting, the new station will take the airwaves by storm next week on 94.1 FM with an exhilarating line-up of contemporary hit music, popular personalities and innovative programming that will twist the very fabric of Sri Lankan radio broadcast.
Aims to revolutionise the industry
“We’re very proud of the new radio station and the important contributions it will make to radio in Sri Lanka. Local radio has yet to experience a broadcast era like this, and we are confident that 94.1 FM will revolutionise the industry – both in the way radio is broadcasted as well as experienced,” Asset Radio Broadcasting’s CEO Asanga Jayasooriya said.
Aiming to make radio a more interactive medium, this new station will entertain audiences with the best music from a wide variety of genres, from artists that created the pathways to today’s music right up to the best new music of today. Beyond a broad musical palette, 94.1 will also re-energise infotainment, bringing news and information into greater focus for a new audience of radio listeners.
“Creating this kind of station takes a lot of talent and hard work, and we’re very proud of the team who will bring 94.1 to our listeners, including some of the brightest minds in the industry as well as bright new talent to create a unique format and a unique sound,” Jayasooriya added.
Kicking off the amusement, the station invites audiences to take a trip on the wild side, by guessing both its name and theme. While they’re not handing out too many clues, a closer read will provide hints for the clever and cunning. The clues are worth hunting for, as the winner will be invited for the station’s gala launch ceremony and get to meet some of the hottest, most talked about media personalities in the country, as well as the chance to win fabulous prizes. And for those who don’t escape with first prize – there’s no need for sour grapes, as there are plenty of other surprises in store as well.
