New trade opportunity opens for tiles and sanitary ware industry

The ceramic tile industry in Sri Lanka has 34 years of long history of manufacturing and distribution of tiles all over the country as well as exporting to many foreign countries in the world. The tile industry has good growth potential given the boom in the property and condominium markets and tourism, rising incomes and changing customer tastes. The major strength of the ceramic tile industry in Sri Lanka is the abundance in availability of local raw materials with excellent quality and purity of the products such as kaolin, ball clay, feldspar, silica quartz and dolomite, contributing to the high standards.

This industry has some significant operational strength, including a highly skilled workforce, competitive labour costs and excellent management at factory levels, state-of-the-art technology, research and development facilities, high ethical standards and confidentiality of design integrity, in contrast to Asian competitors.

Further to strengthen the Sri Lankan tile industry, a focused exhibition on tiles and sanitary ware was conceived. The exhibition aims at the growth of the tiles and sanitary ware industry of Sri Lanka and globally. The objective of the show is to assemble the showcase of local tile manufacturers, tile exporters, raw material providers, machinery manufacturers all under one roof. Being the focused exhibition on tiles and sanitary ware the visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to network with tile exporters from India.
