By Sarah Hannan Nippon Paint Lanka recently marked its entry into digital marketing with the launch of an interactive web portal and mobile app that will help take its products and services closer to tech-savvy customers. With the introduction of these digital marketing tools, the company aims to make home decorating more convenient and customised. Launching the interactive website Nippon Paint Lanka Managing Director Raja Hewabowala stated: “With over four million internet users and growing internet penetration particularly on mobile platforms, our shift in to the digital space will not only help us keep pace with market trends but also revolutionise the traditional colour selection process. We are delighted to add value to the paint selection process and make it more convenient and interactive to our customers. Nippon Paint is our premium range and through our digital tools we want to help our customers select the most appropriate colour combinations that reflect the look and feel they desire.” Colours can play an important role in setting the mood in most private and treasured living spaces. The right combination of colours can help add energy to a dull room or tranquillity to a chaotic one. A number of shades and accents throughout one’s home can help achieve a balanced and colourful life. Nippon Paint’s iColour Visualiser enables customers to upload photos of their home and virtually drag and drop colours to see it come to life. The iColour Visualiser allows customers to match colours of their choice and visualise the finished impression before actual purchase for application. Apart from the iColour Visualiser, the interactive web site www.nipponpaint.com.lk will have a dedicated section that will educate customers on basic colours and how it adds value to their lives. The web site offers an unlimited range of colours to experiment with, selection tips, moods they create and the tricks on usage. Any colour selection online or through the mobile app will be identically matched at the point of purchase. Japan-based Nippon Paint is the largest paint manufacturer in Asia with 30 companies spread across the Asian region, North America and Eurpoe. Nippon Paint Lanka started operations as a joint venture between Silicon Coatings Ltd. and Nippon Paint Singapore.
