Noritake ends 2015 on winning note

Noritake Lanka Porcelain Pvt Ltd (NLPL) ends 2015 on a winning note with several awards to its credit. The most recent one was last week when it walked away with the Best Exporter Awards in the Ceramic and Mineral Based Products sector at the Presidential Export Awards for the years 2012 and 2013, organised by Sri Lanka Export Development Board.

One day prior to that it clinched the Silver Award in the Extra Large Manufacturing Category at the National Productivity Awards 2014 organised by the National Productivity Secretariat

It previously emerged one of the top winners at the prestigious National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) Awards by winning a Gold Award in the Extra Large Category (Industrial Sector) for the second consecutive year.

There was also the Sector Award – Chemicals, Ceramic and Glass at the National Business Excellence Awards 2015 organised by the National Chamber of Commerce.

Commenting on the winning streak, NLPL Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Yoshinari Shimaya said, “This year has been a good one. Not only has it brought us several awards in different categories but also larger numbers of customers while our numbers have also been promising. The goals that lie ahead are challenging and we look forward to greater times in the New Year.”

Established in 1972 as a joint venture company between the Ceylon Ceramic Corporation and the one hundred year old Noritake Co Ltd of Japan, NLPL today enjoys iconic status as Sri Lanka’s pioneer porcelain tableware manufacturing company.
