Oasis Marketing Ltd was formed 18 years ago and is a leading national fertiliser company that has specialised in nature conservation. It has taken an acute interest in maintaining environmental standards. This has shaped their activities in recent years. Underscoring the need to distribute environmentally-friendly compost and fertiliser to local farmers, Oasis Marketing Managing Director Sumith de Silva has spearheaded a Memorandum of Understanding between the company and the Institute of Fundamental Studies in Hanthane that was signed recently. The agreement is a landmark in that it marks the first time in which a leading fertiliser company has signalled its willingness to work on the need to make compost distributed to farmers here free of chemical accretion. The MoU highlights this and through it also envisions more job opportunities through realising the need to emphasise on chemical-free compost and fertiliser. The agreement was signed by Sumith de Silva and Professor S.A. Kulasuriya from the Institute of Fundamental Studies. Here Silva and Kulasuriya exchanging the souvenirs after signing the agreement while Fundamental Institution President Professor C.B. Dissanayake looks on.
