The highly residential suburb of Thalawathugoda now has the benefit of the wide-spectrum shopping experience that only ODEL can offer, following the opening of a complete ODEL Department store at Capital Mall on the Madiwela Road.

Extending to an area of 14,000 square feet, the new ODEL Department store, the 21st in the iconic fashion and lifestyle chain, was ceremonially declared open by Ashok Pathirage, Chairman of ODEL and of the Softlogic Group, which owns the brand and its retail network. The new store replaces the 900 square foot ‘ODEL Home’ section which opened in the mall in January this year.

Located on the first floor of the mall, the new ODEL Department store comprises of all the key departments that make up the ODEL experience: ladies wear, gents wear, kids, bags and shoes, watch station, ‘Backstage’ (accessories), lingerie, luggage, ‘Delight’ (confectionery), ODEL Home, sportswear, and the products and brands marketed by the tenant outlet ‘Exclusive Lines.’

It is a cornucopia of leading global brands of the calibre of Nike, Jockey, Li-Ning, Canterbury and Pin High in the Sportswear category, Mothercare and Allen Solly in the Kids segment, Arrow, US Polo, Pepe, Levis, Dockers, Giordano, Louis Philippe and Van Heusen in branded apparel, and Luxottica in designer eye wear.

Visitors to ODEL at Capital Mall will also have access to a range of the World’s best branded consumer electronic products sold by Softlogic Max, under a store-in-store concept, the company said. Global heavyweight brands such as Panasonic, Samsung, Whirlpool, Candy, Xerox, Microsoft and many more for which Softlogic holds the Authorised Distributorship in Sri Lanka are all lined up under attractive offers and interest-free schemes. The products on offer include state-of-the-art LED TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, home theatre systems, kitchen appliances, mobile phone units, notebooks to name  a few.

“The new store which follows a large format department store concept, is representative of the combined strengths of Softlogic and ODEL, and will cater to the large base of discerning consumers in the Thalawathugoda, Pelawatte and Madiwela areas. Customers can enjoy the rich shopping experience of ODEL, and the availability of ‘just-in’ styles in their immediate neighbourhood, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week” a company statement said.
