A 12-member high powered business/investor delegation from dairy and poultry sectors from Netherlands will be visiting Sri Lanka in end November. The Netherlands Export Combination (NEC) in association with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Sri Lanka and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be organising a seminar on ‘Innovative Technological Solutions in Agriculture from the Netherlands’ followed by B2B meetings on 28 November at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
These high powered dairy sector delegates are interested in setting up joint ventures and also partnering for possible trade opportunities in supplying of quality cattle, consultancy services, after sales services for dairy sector, raw milk cooling solutions such as solar coolers for small scale dairy farmers and technology transfers to track around the clock performance of individual cows and herds. They are also interested in setting up of an education and training centre for development of agro industry, water, urban green and land management, agro business and green technology, horticulture and veterinary nursing. In addition is the setting up of milk collection centres in Sri Lanka.
The poultry sector delegates are interested in processing of poultry, building state-of-art poultry processing plants and promotion of range of poultry farm equipment such as feeding, drinking ventilation systems, climate analysing systems for poultry houses, rendering systems to convert beef, pork, poultry and fish slaughter waste into a range of by-products, such as meal, tallow, poultry oil, blood meal etc.
Participating companies in the dairy sector include C. van ‘t Riet Dairy Technology, Firma Dekker, European Livestock, Hunland, KUHN-Geldrop BV, Mueller, NEDAP and Wellant College. Amongst the delegates in the poultry sector are Agromax, Mavitec, Meyn and PasReform.
The dairy sector is an important part of the Dutch economy and its international trade. In the growing global market, Dutch dairy is renowned for quality products and innovations.
