Outward Bound Sri Lanka fully satisfies Review Team

The Bi-annual Safety & Quality Review for Outward Bound Sri Lanka was conducted in Sri Lanka by the Safety and Quality Review Team of Outward Bound International, Utah, USA.

The Review Team which was in Sri Lanka from 8-12 November 2010 examined closely the activities, systems, procedures, processes and protocols of the Outward Bound Trust of Sri Lanka and scrutinised in detail the safety and quality aspects in respect of the professional development training programmes conducted by Outward Bound Trust Sri Lanka. They also inspected the training venue at Dambulla, the equipment, stores and reviewed the procedures including the crisis management and emergency protocols of Outward Bound Sri Lanka.



Subsequently, at a briefing for the Trustees of Outward Bound Sri Lanka, the Review Team stated that they were fully satisfied with the safety procedures and systems and ancillary matters as far as Outward Bound Sri Lanka was concerned.

The Review Team also conducted an upgrading workshop for the trainers and was very impressed with the high professional standard, leadership and communication skills of the trainers and their capacity to debrief and process the learning outcome and relating such learning for practical application in their career and in the organisational context. 

 On the whole, they remarked that the safety record of Outward Bound Sri Lanka was outstanding including the excellence in quality displayed at the programmes as evidenced through the feedback from the participants.

Outward Bound International carries out an International Safety Review of all 52 centres worldwide once in two years, while the national OB organisations carry out annual safety reviews internally with their resource panel.  Outward Bound Trust – Sri Lanka is an affiliate of Outward Bound International which operates in 33 Countries throughout the world with headquarters at Utah, USA.
