Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC (ORCL) was honoured with the Silver Award under the Land and Property Companies’ category, for its Annual Report 2012, at a glamorous presentation ceremony held at the Grand Ballroom, Water’s Edge on 10 December 2013, held by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA)
A distinguished panel of judges comprising of professionals closely perused various annual reports in the initial selection process. The awards were presented on the basis of adherence to financial reporting standards, social and corporate governance responsibilities amongst Sri Lankan business entities.
This competition is a platform to encourage excellence in financial reporting amongst diversified Sri Lankan business organisations. The competition also highlights the important role the private sector plays in ensuring good corporate governance.
The Annual Report 2012 of Overseas Realty was designed around the theme “Delivering a Sustainable Future”. Overseas Realty, the owner, developer and manager of the iconic World Trade Centre, Colombo and the Havelock City Project is a Board of Investment flagship company incorporated in Sri Lanka in 1980, to undertake the principal activities of investment in properties, property development, and property trading and management.
This award reassures Overseas Realty of being a responsible corporate entity, whilst pursuing its corporate objectives.
