Karachi: GFC Fans, one of the leading electric fan manufacturers in Pakistan, is exporting two 20 ft containers of fans to Sri Lanka having net worth of around $ 50,000, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) announced on Tuesday.

The TDAP, the government body responsible for promoting Pakistani exports, said these orders got matured by recent participation of GFC Fans in Single Country Exhibition at Sri Lanka from 15-17 January organised by the authority. Gujrat-based GFC is one of the largest manufacturers of high quality electric fans in Pakistan within extensive distribution network all over the Globe. TDAP organised the Pakistan Single Country Exhibition 2016 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in order to enhance the bilateral trade between the two countries that were growing at a slow pace despite having a Free Trade Agreement in effect since 2005. However Pakistan and Sri Lanka have not been able to utilise the FTA to its potential. Last year Sri Lanka’s bilateral trade with Pakistan stood at $354 million. Both countries now aim for a US$ 1 billion annual trade turnover in the coming two to three years.

Such endeavours of TDAP can provide a level playing field to all potential sectors of Pakistan in pursuance of achieving a quantum leap in exports, the TDAP said in a statement.
