Pedro and Handunkanda Estates establish record tea prices

Pedro Estate Nuwara Eliya has established yet another all time record price at this week’s tea auction held on 20 March 2013 by securing an attractive price of Rs. 1,400 per kilogram, for a liquoring OP grade selling under the ‘Lover’s Leap’ mark. This line was purchased by M/s Lipton Ceylon Limited. Pedro Estate is managed by Kelani Valley Plantations PLC. This line of tea was sold by tea brokers M/s John Keells PLC.



Handunkanda Estate has established another all time record price at this week’s tea auction held on 20 March 2013 by achieving a price of Rs. 490 per kilogram for a Broken Pekoe grade. The Handunkanda Estate is situated in the Ayagama region, Ratnapura and sells in the Low Grown Elevation. Handunkanda is managed by Pine Hill Tea Factory Pvt Ltd. This line was purchased by M/s Tea Select (Pvt) Ltd. This line of tea was sold by tea brokers M/s John Keells PLC.
