PIM Alumni to explore future of Sri Lankan oil and gas industry

The PIM Alumni, the professionals association of the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Management which is affiliated to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has organised a special forum to discuss the future of the oil and gas industry in Sri Lanka. This discussion will be of immense importance to the Sri Lankan corporate sector, industrial establishments, corporate enterprises, investors and Sri Lankan citizens who are interested in furthering their knowledge in this most valuable energy sector. The exploration and eventual growth of this segment will be of immense benefit to Sri Lanka’s economic development. Potential deposits of oil, particularly in the northern basin of Sri Lanka’s shores, have been identified with positive evidence by some highly recognised oil exploring institutions around the world. The keynote speaker at the event will be Saliya Wickremasuriya, a reputed petroleum engineer in the oil and gas industry with international experience. He currently serves as the Director General of the Petroleum Research Development Secretariat of Sri Lanka. The event will be moderated by Sunil Wijesinghe, a chartered engineer and a well-known and reputed corporate sector industrialist and also the Chairman of the National Development Bank. The distinguished panel members will include Eng M. C. Wickramasekara, the Additional General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board and Prof. Saman Bandara, a reputed engineer and senior faculty member of the University of Moratuwa. The forum will be held on 28 October at the PIM auditorium, No. 28, Lesley Ranagala Mawatha, the premises of the Postgraduate Institute of Management.
