Ravago’s production competence consists of 24 manufacturing facilities of which 18 recycling and compounding plants in North America, Europe, Turkey and China with a combined annual sales volume of over $ 8 billion dollars. Ravago Lanka Ltd. which started its operation in Sri Lanka at end 2012 now distributes a wide range of plastics raw materials including PP, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, HIPS, PET and engineering resins for injection moulding, blow moulding, rotational moulding and extrusion industries through its warehouse in the outskirts of Colombo.  Apart from distribution Ravago Lanka also acts as a reseller for variety of global plastic manufacturers as well as some finished plastic film and sheet products. Ravago Lanka Managing Director Chavinka Sumanatilleke, a plastics engineer and a 15-year veteran in the industry, is enthusiastic about the perspective Ravago Group brings to the Sri Lankan market and local customers. Ravago Lanka is the first and the only multinational plastics distributor that brings a customised just in time supply chain solution along with technical expertise to the market. Through Ravago’s global trade platform local customers will have access to more specialised materials and grades. According to Sumanatilleke, Sri Lanka is still a mostly a commodity plastic driven market with the majority of the companies doing industrial/packaging related manufacturing. With companies like Ravago Lanka coming into the market, local manufacturing companies with ambitions to look at new markets such as automotive, telecommunication and medical sectors will have access to more specialised materials with greater ease and also have the flexibility of accessing material when customers need it just in time locally. Ravago Lanka also hopes to have multiple material outlets closer to the customer base in the future.
