President Maithripala Sirisena examines a pendent turned out for export at the stall of Rio Jewellers of Kandy, at the Gem Jewellery Exhibition at BMICH. Rio Jewellery Director J.M. Ikram said his was the only stall from Kandy pertaining to export of gems and jewellery at the exhibition. Ikram said that they are targeting for export of jewellery rather than the local market, because Kandy has the potential for exports. In addition he said that foreign visitors to Kandy also have a share in the export trade. Here Ikram is showing President Sirisena the pendent that is available for export and its special features.
