President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also the Minister of Finance and Planning, in preparation for next year’s Budget met with the trade union representatives of the country on Friday. During the meeting with the union representatives held at the President’s Secretariat. the President has solicited their views and proposals to prepare the 2014 Budget.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary to the Treasury Dr. P.B. Jayasundera has said that Sri Lanka has gained a significant growth in the national economy and expressed his gratitude to the working class for its utmost support extended in this connection.
Ministers Gamini Lokuge, W.D.J. Seneviratne, Basil Rajapaksa, Kumara Welgama and Dayasritha Tissera, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Ministry Secretaries and other Government officials participated in the meeting.
