President presents Industrial Excellence Awards

The 53rd anniversary of Small and Medium Industries Board and 10th Industrial Excellence Awards ceremony was held last week under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at Waters Edge Hotel in Battaramulla.

The entrepreneurs who have excelled in small and medium scale industries were awarded by the President at this event. The President awarded seven prestigious platinum and gold awards to the entrepreneurs during the event.

Sunil Koholiya who won a platinum award received the award and cash prize from the President, later donated the cash prize to the National Kidney Fund. The Director of the Presidential Task Force on Preventing Kidney Disease Asela Iddawela was also present at this event.

The President also presented a special award to Aloy Jayawardena for his valuable services to the Small and Medium Industries.

The awards ceremony held covering all the districts in the island and Ministers Ravi Karunanayake, Rishad Bathiudeen, Faizer Mustapha, the Chairman of the Small and Medium Industries Board, Mohideen Kader and many others participated in this event.
