President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday evening visited the inaugural exhibition of small and medium scale industries, SMIDEX 2014.
SMIDEX 2014 was held from 23 to 25 May at the BMICH to mark the 45th anniversary of the Industrial Development Board (IDB), the premier agency for industrial development and promotion in Sri Lanka.
SMIDEX has been introduced as the foremost annual showcase to promote Sri Lanka’s SMIs with a special emphasis on SMI technology, machinery, raw materials and business development and other services facility.
The organisers said a large number of exhibitors from both domestic and international markets have visited the exhibition, which focuses exclusively on SMI machinery, technology and allied services. – Pix by Sudath Silva
