Prime Lands Deputy Chairperson Sandamini Perera honoured with Asian women’s award

Prime Lands Group Deputy Chairperson Sandamini Perera was awarded with the prestigious ‘WE (Women Empowerment) Award 2014” initiated by the World Consulting & Research Corporation (WCRC) Leaders Asia a monthly business and leadership magazine published by World Consulting & Research Corporation at a glamorous event held on 18 April 2014 at Intercontinental Eros (Nehru Place), New Delhi. The award was presented by Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra, Judge Supreme Court India and Abhimanyu Ghosh, Editor-in-Chief WCRC Leaders Asia. Perera was chosen for the ’WE Awards’ for her outstanding achievement and contribution to business excellence as a woman leader in the corporate business field in Sri Lanka. Prime Lands Group is the undisputed leader in the real estate market in Sri Lanka and aims to be the best real estate company in South Asia by year 2020. The Group has also ventured into housing developments with its subsidiary company Prime Homes Ltd. and already have launched nine landmark housing projects under the Prime Residencies brand in the last two years recording a significant growth in the market.                   Prime Lands Group has also ventured into financial services sector by acquiring Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd., and today it is one of the largest microfinance companies in Sri Lanka. The ‘WE Awards’ reward and recognise “women who inspire”. These awards aim to promote the aspect of women’s empowerment by bringing to light the outstanding contributions of women from various walks of life who have emerged as role models for society. These women achievers are the embodiment of strength, self-confidence and empowerment and it is these qualities that WCRC Leaders Asia wants to celebrate through the ‘WE Awards’. This was the first and only time that a Sri Lankan business woman has been awarded and honoured with this award, chosen from women leaders across India, South East Asia and the Gulf region.
