The annual Royal-Thomian cricket match is more than just a game for many people. It is an eagerly looked forward to occasion when old and current Royalists and Thomians gather to celebrate an event spanning over 100 years.

For the 132nd encounter this year, the joint organising committee, decided to enhance the security features by designing and printing the entrance tickets through Printcare Secure, a subsidiary of the well known printing Group Printcare Plc.

Printcare Secure has used the latest security print technology and material which is used to print millions of pre paid reload cards, scratch lottery tickets and promotional game cards for local and export markets.

“The tickets were printed with overt and covert security features. Certain basic security features will enable the security guards at the gates to authenticate the tickets at a glance.

These innovative features are extremely difficult to reproduce.  Special equipment will be required to validate certain other security features on the ticket,” said Ranga Suriarachchi, an old boy of Royal College and General Manager of Printcare Secure.

“In addition, the Etisalat scratch promotion game featured on the ticket cannot be compromised in any way.

The use of scratch games in tickets is an innovative new approach that we have used successfully to further reduce the incentive for people buying counterfeit tickets and products,” he added.
