Sri Lanka’s premier printing and packaging exporter, Printcare Plc, was honoured at the Presidential Export Awards this week with two awards in the Printing category for 2014 and 2015.
The awards, presented at a ceremony at which President Maithripala Sirisena was Chief Guest, recognised Printcare as the largest exporter of printing services from Sri Lanka for the past two years.
Printcare ended the 2015/16 financial year with profits before tax growing by 13% to Rs. 425 million from Rs. 376 million from the year before. A slightly depressed global economy, underpinned by low commodity prices, Russia’s geopolitical and economic woes, China’s economic realignment and conflicts in the Middle East impacted the Group’s topline growth.
Revenue for the year increased by 2% to Rs. 5,165 million. However, the group improved profitability by focusing on increased value addition in its export orders and its niche print products. “Our ability to collaborate with our customers, to understand their needs and win together has been instrumental in growing stakeholder value,” commented Printcare Managing Director K.R. Ravindran.
“Our growth in profits last year and our success over the years have been driven by our ability to go the extra mile and continuously deliver innovative high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers,” stated Chairman M.J. Fernando.
Printcare integrates the art and science of printing with a transformative mindset and world-class technology to deliver leading edge solutions. The group has integrated itself into many of its customers’ global supply chains, with many leading global brands now using its products and services in over 50 countries.
Selected as a Business Superbrand and Great Place to Work, Printcare is a leader in the printing and packaging industries. Well known for being the premier global supplier of tea bag tags and envelopes, supplying the world’s most reputed tea brands, Printcare also provides printing and packaging for the apparel and FMCG sectors, security printing for the lotteries and telecom industries, printing and finishing for the publishing industry and specialised digital media services.
