Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara new VC at Kelaniya Uni

President Mahinda Rajapaksha has appointed Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara is a Professor in the Department of Econ-omics at the University of Kelaniya as well as the Director General of

the Ministry of Economic Development. He had his education at Mailapitiya Maha Vidyalaya and entered the University of Kelaniya from the Thalathuoya Hewahata Central College, Kandy. He graduated from the University of Kelaniya with a Special Degree in Economics. He conducted his post graduate studies at the Shiga‚ Nayoga University and Osaka Foreign Language University in Japan. He was a former head of the Department of Economics and held the post of Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Kelaniya. He has also served as the Director of Information.
