Opens brand new showroom and introduces new security paper product
Pulp & Paper International Ltd., Sri Lanka’s leading supplier of world-class paper products, is expanding their operations and has moved to their new Head Office premises located at 276/1, New Kandy Road, Koswatta, Battaramulla. Along with the new office, the company has also opened their brand new showroom which has on display a wide range of international paper products for the printing and packaging industry.
Speaking about the office relocation and the new showroom, Pulp & Paper International Managing Director Piyal Ratnayake stated, “Since inception, Pulp & Paper International has made great strides in the importing world-class paper products. With our growth, we felt it is time that we expanded to a larger office building so that we can provide a better service to all our valued customers. The showroom is of course the highlight of the new office premises. We will be having on display a comprehensive range of international paper products catered towards the Printing and Packaging Industry in Sri Lanka.
“Our courteous, knowledgeable staff will be able to help any customer to fulfil their paper requirement. In addition to this, we also welcome manufacturers from around the world to use our showroom to display their products to the Sri Lankan market.”
Having commenced business in 1995, Pulp & Paper International has grown rapidly and is recognised as the pioneer in introducing state-of-the-art paper technology and new, innovative concepts to the paper making, converting, printing and packaging market of Sri Lanka. The company imports various types of paper products that are used across different industries across the island. Their product portfolio can broadly be categorised into four: Security Paper, Industrial Paper, Printing and Packaging Paper and Trading Paper. They are the Exclusive Agents for a wide variety of the world’s top paper brands across these four categories.
The relocation of the office also coincides with the company introducing their latest security paper product – Mr. P Anti-Copy Paper. Speaking about the thinking behind the company’s new product, Ratnayake stated, “For the past several years we have been dealing with importing many varieties of papers and materials. Recently, I realised that there is a vacuum in the market for security paper. These days, news reports show us that sophisticated crimes of counterfeiting, fraud and forgery are on the rise in Sri Lanka. There are so many instances of individuals using forged documents for illegal activities such as acquiring land or creating bogus agreements, contracts and other legal documents.”
He added that to counter this worrying crime wave, Sri Lanka should move towards security paper as soon as possible. “We immediately got in touch with our Indonesian manufacturers, who are globally recognised for their security paper products, and sought their advice on the matter. As a result of these discussions, we decided to introduce our latest product – Mr. P Anti-Copy Paper.”
Elaborating on the product, Ratnayake stated, “Mr. P Anti-Copy Paper is a specially produced paper with a hidden security background that will only appear when copied or scanned. It guarantees the originality of the document. It is a high quality product that is made to international standards. It is the most cost-effective way to protect against counterfeiting, fraud and unauthorised copying of your important documents.” He added that Mr. P Anti-Copy Paper uses a specialised paper that has a heat-sensitive watermark. When the document is photocopied or scanned the heat from the machine will reveal this watermark on the copy. “This ensures that a duplicate of the original cannot be made without the watermark,” he added.
“In addition to this, by using Mr. P Anti-Copy Paper companies can also make a bold statement of prestige and professionalism. It’s a way to show that the organisation is a cut above the rest when it comes to managing important documents. You can also customise the watermark that appears when photocopied or scanned,” Ratnayake added. “Not only is it important to use this in the office environment, it can make a big difference to the security of an individual’s personal documents. Documents such as National Identity Cards, passports, land deeds, power of attorneys, affidavits and certificates can also be done in a safe and secure manner,” he further added.
Pulp & Paper International was the first company to introduce many unique items to the Sri Lankan market, revolutionising the way companies operate in the island. The company’s clientele include both public and private sector organisation in Sri Lanka, including several multinational companies operating in the island.
