Quality Fruits (Pvt) Ltd., a reputed company importing and distributing fruits, has won recognition with three coveted awards for their operations.

The awards are the ISO 9001:2008 quality certification, the ISO 22000:2008 food safety management system certification, and the HACCP – Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point. All three have been awarded by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and Certification Company.

Incorporated in July 2003, Quality Fruits imports fruits from all permitted countries and distributes to a wide clientele including supermarkets, wholesale dealers, caterers, juice outlets, hotels and restaurants throughout the country. The company maintains proper cold chain management with the state of art cool room facility thereby ensuring maximum quality standards. Freezer trucks are utilized for the distribution.

Pioneered by two professionals, the company operating from Mudungoda, Gampaha imports high quality products including apples, grapes, oranges, grape fruit and nectarine. Starting with just a handful, today over 50 in the staff handle numerous operations of the business. Most of them have been recruited from the vicinity of the company.

Commenting on gaining recognition with the certifications, a company spokesman said that it is a clear sign of the high standards maintained by the company in providing the customer with high quality fruits.

“As exporters of fresh fruits and vegetable to the international market, we had gained wide experience and decided to diversify the business forming a new company to import fresh fruit to Sri Lanka and give the opportunity to Sri Lankans to taste high quality fresh fruit grown around the world at competitive prices,” he added.
