Record price for Nawagamuwehena Tea

At this week’s Colombo Tea Auction, a line of Nawagamuwehena Tea Factory FGS grade sold at a record price of Rs. 600 per kg and improved on the previous record of Rs. 570 per kg.

The factory is in Lellopitiya in Sabaragamuwa Agro Climatic district and is owned by Mr. B.V.  Jayawardena (J.P).

This tea was purchased by Ceylon Tea Marketing ltd, and was successfully marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
