‘Reflection of Sri Lanka’ a roaring success

Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa stated that the ‘Reflection of Sri Lanka’ held in Battaramulla with the aim of exhibiting talents of Sri Lankans in order to generate trade, tourism and investment opportunities to Sri Lanka was highly successful and greatly appreciated by all those who arrived in Sri Lanka for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2013. The Minister said that the creativity and talents of Sri Lankan people could be showcased to the world through this exhibition which is an event that has been hitherto unseen during previous CHOGM events. After observing every stall of the exhibition on 16 November, the Minister addressing the media said he was delighted with the talents of Sri Lankans and he was made aware of unknown facts. The Minister said that it also revealed the implementation method of the ‘Divi Neguma’ Program, which is an addition to the tourism industry of this country. He stated that Sri Lankan productions are at a high level and can compete with productions of any country. While ‘Reflection of Sri Lanka’ was initiated on 13 November presided over by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, on 14 and 15 November it was opened to foreign investors and foreigners who arrived in Sri Lanka for CHOGM 2013. It was opened to the general public on 16 and 17 November. It was jointly organised by the Minister of Economic Development, Ministry of Industries and Commerce, Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Board of Investment of Sri Lanka. Minister of Industries Rishard Bathiudeen, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Susantha Punchi Nilame, Deputy Ministers S.M. Chandrasena and H.M. Hisbullah, Minister of Western Provincial Council Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Nimal Lanza and several others who visited the exhibition were also present at the briefing.
