The FIATA 7th Field Meeting of the Association Members of the Region Asia/Pacific and the UNESCAP Regional Forum of Freight Forwarders, Multimodal Transport Operators and Logistics Service Providers and UNESCAP Meeting of Chief Executives of National Transport Operators and Logistics Service Providers, is currently underway at Jetwing Blue, Negombo.

In conjunction to these meetings, the Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Associations (FAPAA) will have its 40th Executive Council Meeting and Annual General Meeting from 8 – 9 June at the same venue.

The Sri Lanka Freight Forwarders Association(SLFFA), the apex body representing the Freight forwarding industry in Sri Lanka will host all three meetings. This is the first instance where SLFFA will be hosting the FIATA RAP and the UNESCAP meetings. It has made arrangements to attract more than 50 international and local delegates for this prestigious event. This is the third time it will be hosting the FAPAA ECM.

The Federation of Asia Pacific Air Cargo Association (FAPPA) is a regional grouping of National Freight Forwarders Associations in the Asia-Pacific Region. FAPAA which was formed in 1985 is a very strong body comprising the National Aircargo/Freight Forwarders Associations of Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Apart from fostering greater co-operation among regional Air Cargo/Freight Forwarding Associations, it also acts as a vital point of contact with IATA and FIATA. Since Asia Pacific is now being recognised as the worlds’ largest Airfreight market, FAPAA has a very active role to play in promoting and safeguarding the interests of main players in the aircargo industry.
