Richard Ebell joins Finlays Board, Chandra steps down

Formerly of Hayleys' Richard Ebell has been appointed to the Board of Finlays Colombo Plc as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 June.

Ebell was employed at Hayleys Plc between 1977 and 2009 in diverse roles in operations and services and he functioned as a Director of Hayleys Plc from 1989. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Sri Lanka and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Managment Accountants, UK.

Finlays also announced the resignation of Chandra Jayaratne after a stint on the Board for 17 years.

The Board had accepted his letter of resignation with effect from 22 May and Jayaratne was thanked for his invaluable contribution to the Board.

Following the appointment of Richard Ebell, the Board of DFirectors of Finlays Colombo Plc comprises C.L.K.P. Jayasuriya (Chairman, E.R. Croos Moraes, J.L. Caspersz, C. Pietersz, N.K.H. Ratwatte, J.D. Bandaranayake, N.G. Wickremeratne, R.J. Mathison and P.R. Henson.

James Finlay Ltd., holds 96.68% stake in Finlay Colombo Plc.
