Richard Pieris Tyre Company holds annual dealer convention

The Richard Pieris Tyre Company enjoys the strength of a dealer network that caters to the whole country, and it recently recognised the 1500-strong sales agents and others who help it deliver exemplary results at its annual dealer convention, held at the Waskaduwa Citrus Hotel. These agents had the privilege of receiving their awards from Richard Pieris and Company Group Director Prof. Lakshman R Watawala and General Manager Pradeep Samaratunga.

K. Choi. Fifty-five sales agents from the tyre retreading sector and 10 agents from the tyre trading sector received special awards at this annual convention. The prestigious award for the Best Dealer of the Tyre Retreading Sector (covering the whole island) was clinched by Dikwella Shanthi Tyre Mart Ltd. Managing Director H.M.T.J. Shanthiratne. Second and third prizes went to Rambukkana Sisira Tyre House owner W.A.W.W. Sisira Kumara and Balangoda Jayanthi Tyre Center owner A.P. Ambagahawatte.

A. Karunatilleke. Second and third prizes in this category went to Anuradhapura Auto Tyre Ways Ltd. Managing Director P. A. Sunil Premaratne and Dikwella Shanthi Tyre Mart Ltd. Managing Director H. M. T. J. Shanthiratne. This high-status award ceremony also felicitated agents with the awards ‘Upahara Abhiyasa’, ‘Upahara Gaurava’ and ‘Kalapa Abhimani.’ Gold awards were given to respective sales agents in recognition of their dedicated services towards dealing with the brands. The award ceremony was followed by the usual family get-together of the dealers on the following day coupled with cookery programs and game shows for children. Prof. Sarath Wijesuriya delivered a speech with much substance on positive thinking. Addressing the ‘Rajagamane Gauroththmachara’ felicitation ceremony, Richard Pieris Tyre Company Managing Director Pradeep Samaratunga said the company accepts around 45,000 tyres monthly for rebuilding. “Out of these 45,000 tyres, around 5,000 go on waste due to negligence by the end users. Our sales agents can work towards minimising this wastage by educating the customers. Our company’s sole ambition is to provide ARPIDAG tyres of high standard to our customers, at the right price and at the right time,” said Samaratunga.
