Rienzie to be appointed to Touchwood Board

Veteran ex-banker Rienzie Wijethileke is to be appointed to the Board of Directors of Tourchwood Plc.

The Company will convene an extra ordinary general meeting on 2 January to pass an ordinary resolution to appoint Wijethileke, necessitated as he is over 70 years old.

Wijethileke described in his biography as a trail blazing banker has served as the CEO of Hatton National Bank for 17 years and its Managing Director from 2004 to 2011.

He has over 50 years of experience in banking and while working as the Chairman of HNB he has been Chairman of HNB Assurance Plc and served as the chairman of HNB Stockbrokers Ltd., HNB Securities Ltd., ... Sithma Development Ltd., and Sunshine Holdings Plc.

He was also the Chairman of the Board of Colombo Stock Exchange. He serves as Chairman of the Governing Board of Leighton Park International and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the OLPC Foundation.

He has been Director Nawaloka Hospitals PLC since 2003 and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers United Kingdom and the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka.
