Romanian Ambassador addresses NCCSL

Ambassador of Romania in Sri Lanka Dr. Victor Chiudjea was the Special Guest at a presentation/discussion on ‘Bilateral Economic and Commercial Relations between Sri Lanka and Romania’ held recently at the Chamber Auditorium. He was accompanied by Dr. Cornelia Chijdjea of the Romanian Embassy.

The Ambassador gave a comprehensive presentation on the current business trend, trade potential, opportunities for export, import, investment and other services for Sri Lankan businesses in Romania.

Participants who had interests with Romania had an opportunity to interact with the Ambassador and officials of the Embassy and get first hand information on business related issues when doing business with Romania.

Major exports to Romania from Sri Lanka are electrical and electrical equipment and parts, rubber and rubber products, animal or vegetable fats and oils and their products, articles of apparel and clothing accessories knitted or crocheted, inorganic chemicals, prepared animal fodder, palm oil and its fractions, articles of paper board, paper pulp, live fish, articles of iron and steel, etc.

Main imports from Romania to Sri Lanka are articles of iron and steel, articles of apparel, special woven or tufted fabric, lace, stranded wire, robes, cables, inorganic chemicals, precious metal compound, refrigerators, freezers electric equipment, coffee, tea, mace and spices, etc.
