Prince Charles made a visit to the recently opened Laksala Museum Gallery Cafe shortly after the inauguration of the 22nd Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Colombo.
The Laksala Museum Gallery Cafe was selected as the venue for the royal reception by Buckingham Palace for the Prince of Wales to host the Commonwealth Business Leaders himself, soon after the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Heads of States Summit 2013.
Laksala Museum Gallery Cafe is gaining recognition as the most favoured venue for receptions of this nature and souvenir shopping among top dignitaries and royalty visiting Sri Lanka.
The revamping of Laksala is part of the overarching Mahinda Chinthana program, and also runs parallel to Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa’s Divi Neguma program.
This is the third royal visit to the Laksala Museum Gallery cafe. Previously a Princess of Thailand as well as a Princess of Japan visited the newly opened building as well.
The plush outlet, which is built on one and a half acres of land, caters to a discerning clientele from all over the world.
