Rs. 11.2 m Gold nabbed at BIA

Three Sri Lankan passengers, two males and one female were arrested by Custom officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport with 20 gold slabs concealed in their rectum and wearing unfinished jewelry worth Rs. 11.2 million. They tried to smuggle out these gold to Mumbai Custom officer said. Inquiry was held by Deputy Director of Customs Deepal Siribaddna who forfeited the 20 biscuits of gold and imposed a penalty of Rs. 50,000 each for two males - Pix by Kumarasiri Prasad -Airport Correspondent.
