Sathis Abeywickrama bags SLAP Lifetime Achievement Award

Flexiprint Ltd. and Print USA Ltd. Managing Director Sathis Abeywickrama was awarded with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the recently concluded Collate 2016, the annual award ceremony organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP). Having been an outstanding personality involved in the printing industry for over three decades, Sathis has reached many golden milestones in his journey for perfection.

Acknowledged as the most prestigious award a printer can win in his lifetime, his eligibility to walk away with it has been justified with the service he has rendered in his capacity. Sathis Abeywickrama is one individual who has revolutionised the printing industry with his innovative concepts in designing backed by his impeccable knowledge on the trade. He has been instrumental in introducing a value addition to the tea sector by combining his knowledge in designing various packaging material which later was in high demand in the tea industry. 

Having started his career at the Aitken Spence printing department as a temporary supervisor, Sathis has come a long way since then, reciprocating small and medium sized businesses in to larger ventures which eventually proved his capacity as a committed leader in the trade. His knowledge and perseverance enabled him to embark on his own venture as the first Print Broker in Sri Lanka thus initiating Print USA Ltd., which is a now a premier supplier of value added printed packaging in Sri Lanka. 

On the other hand he also commenced his next venture Flexiprint Ltd., with just 10 employees back in 1994. Today Flexiprint has become an irreplaceable catalyst in the tea-bagging trade, thus introducing the tea-bag tag, tea-bag enveloped and tagged pyramid mesh producer in South East Asia. 

Both Flexiprint Ltd. and Print USA Ltd. have won many awards and accolades over the past few decades justifying their integrity, benchmarking quality and superiority in the printing and packaging trade.

Sathis believes that nothing is possible if not for the support rendered by his customers, employees, family and friends and extends his heartfelt gratitude to all those who have applauded his success throughout his journey so far.
