Second edition of ‘UK Sri Lanka Business Directory’ coming soon

The second edition of the Lankians’ ‘UK Sri Lanka Business Directory’ is to be released soon, its publishers said yesterday.

Isuru Wijeratne, Head of Marketing Lankians Worldwide, met P. M Amza, acting High Commissioner at the Sri Lankan High Commission in UK to brief him about the publication as well as successful visit to the UK in July 2011.

“We are very grateful to Sonali Wijeratne Minister (Commercial), Jagath Kumara (First Secretary) and to the all the official at the Sri Lankan High Commission office in London for arranging this meeting. Once again we look forward to gather all the Sri Lankan business community in UK and do this publication for 2012,” Wijeratne said.

He said the directory would be a great asset to the community since it would have all the necessary contacts. The printed edition will be backed by a web based directory on the website www.lankians.lk. “So far we have teamed up with XLN Telecom, a B-to-B telephone landline, PIP Printing Ltd. in UK and Rising Sun Hotel in Sudbury Hill to back us and hope to join hands with major players in different sectors,” Wijeratne said. Most importantly the directory gives a very valuable chance to all the Sri Lankan companies to advertise their products to UK Sri Lankans. This is ideal for exporters and importers of goods and services. From a jeweller selling jewellery items for a newborn child to a funeral undertaker, this is very useful. Most importantly this represents the Sri Lankans in UK. Lankians is a registered company in Sri Lanka with offices and agents’ worldwide promoting Sri Lanka overseas. Products and services include ‘The Lankian’ magazine, Lankians directories, www.lankians.lk website and many other events. ‘Art of Investment’ seminar conducted with Bartleets Mallory Stockbrokers to promote the Colombo Stock Exchange is another very popular event, said Wijeratne.
