Seminar on ‘Emerging Challenges in the Power Sector in Sri Lanka’

The Sri Lanka Economic Association (SLEA) in collaboration with the Economics Department of the University of Colombo is organising a seminar on ‘Emerging Challenges in the Power Sector in Sri Lanka’. It will be held on 23 March at 5 p.m. at the Department of Economics Auditorium, Colombo University. 

The speakers who are experts in the field include Energy Consultant Dr. Thilak Siyambalapitiya, Ceylon Electricity Board Chairman Eng. Anura Wijayapala, Moratuwa University Chancellor and Ministry of Power and Energy Former Secretary Prof. K.K.Y.W. Perera, and Central Bank of Sri Lanka Assistant Governor K.D. Ranasinghe.

The seminar will discuss the key challenges Sri Lanka is facing in the power sector. It will also provide a forum for stakeholders including policy makers, policy advisers, researchers, power consumers and suppliers, students, and civil society representatives to reflect their views on the current challenges faced by the power sector in Sri Lanka and initiate a dialogue among stakeholders.
