Serendib Flour Mills recently treated ten of its top customers to an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai, UAE, where they visited Al-Ghurai Foods, the parent company of Serendib Flour Mills.
This was following an intensive loyalty campaign conducted among 500 key customers from all over Sri Lanka, over a period of six months. They were then shortlisted to the ten best performing bakers and customers who achieved the highest volumes during the period.
During their three day tour, the ten lucky winners visited the National Flour Mills in Dubai, Jebel Ali Mills and Jenan Pasta, Spaghetti and Noodles production facility also situated in Jebel Ali. It was very educative too as they learnt, first hand, all about the entire flour making process from the grains of wheat to the finished product.
The winners also took time off and indulged in a Dubai Desert Safari which included ‘dune bashing’, a barbecue and a belly dancing performance.
Apart from this, the next ten best performers were taken on an all-expenses paid trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where they visited the Petronas Towers, the world’s tallest building until recently, and also the National Mosque. The Malaysia tour also included an entire day at the Sunway Lagoon Water Theme Park.
“Our customers are a very important part of our success in Sri Lanka. They have been so since our launch in Sir Lanka five years ago. This was not only a pleasure trip but also a very educational one during which they learnt the intricate details about a product they work with everyday of their lives.
Their enthusiasm was great and the feedback we got has been very promising. In fact we are intent on making this an annual feature,” said Serendib Flour Mills (Pvt) Ltd. CEO/Director Sathak Abdul Kadar.
A member of the Al Ghurair Group of Companies, Dubai, UAE, Serendib Flour Mills Pvt Ltd. launched operations in Sri Lanka in June 2008 with the distribution of its Seven Star brand of wheat flour, keeping to its promise of an uninterrupted supply of the freshest wheat flour. It is backed by the leading flour mills in the Middle East, the National Flour Mills (LLC) of the Al-Ghurair Group.
